Scene 1

Two young women return from a night out roaming the bars.

CHRISTE
So Jessie, what did you think of Rob?

JESSIE Not much. He tells the worst jokes. And he thinks he's God's gift to women.

CHRISTIE Well he can't be as bad as Chad. I never saw such a nerdy guy before.
He even had a pocket protector in his shirt! Talk about cliche!

JESSIE Well, I'm going to take a shower to get all this smoke off of me.

CHRISTIE Ok.

Jessie walks into the bathroom and turns the water on. She takes her clothes off to prepare for the shower. (What's taken off depends on the comfort level of the actress.)

The vampire has been behind the shower curtain and as the girl looks at herself in the mirror, he slips out from behind the curtain. At no time do we see his reflection in the mirror. He comes from behind, turns her quickly, and mesmerizes her with his eyes.
CU are shot of each ones's eyes. Then the vampire begins to nibble the girl's neck. She likes it at first. He then raises up, showing his fangs and then biting the girl's neck. She screams in pain. She falls to the floor with bite marks in her neck.

Christie hears the scream.

CHRISTIE Jessie? Jessie, you ok?

She slowly gets up and gets whatever weapon she can find.

CHRISTIE Jessie?
She opens the bathroom door and doesn't see anything, but the water is running.

CHRISTIE
Jessie?

She slowly walks into the room. The shower curtain is closed. She slowly pulls it back and then screams. Jessie is lying in the tub dead. CU of each of them are taken. Suddenly, she's grabbed from behind and turned around. Again, he messmerizes her with his eyes and then bites her. She falls to the floor dead and he disappears. Takes shots of each of the girls with their wounds.

Scene 2

DENISE This is Denise Saunders reporting from the scene of the latest murder.
(The remainder of the script depends on what gets shot.)

Scene 3
Cut to a scene where the newscaster is running down a dark path dressed in only her nightgown. She's confronted by a vampire and bitten. The boyfrind wakes up and Denise is gone. He gets up and runs into Denise just as she's coming in the door dressed only in her nightgown.

JASON Denise? Where were you? What happened?

DENISE I had that nightmare again. I was running down a long path when all of a sudden a vampire appeared and bit me on the neck.

He checks and there are couple scratches.
JASON These are only scratches. You probably ran into a branch outside.
You were sleepwalking again.

DENISE But the vampire?

JASON It was only a dream, brought on by those news reports you're doing.

DENISE But it seemed so real.

JASON Everything is ok. I'm here. And I'd like to make this permanent. Move in all my things.

DENISE I know, but...I just don't know. My mother...

JASON
...Went crazy and ended up in an asylum where she killed
herself by burning herself to death.
I've heard this a thousand times and I told you, I don't care!
You're not your mother. You're not crazy.
You just need to see someone about this sleepwalking.

DENISE No, I don't trust psychiatrists. I won't go!

JASON All right, all right, you won't go. But there are no such things as vampires.

DENISE But what if there is? Vampire lore says that if you're bitten three times,
you become one of the undead.

JASON There are no vampires!

Scene 4
Denise and Janet have just spent the afternoon together for the first time in a few years.

DENISE
It was great to see you again, Janet. We definitely need to do this again.
And we shouldn't wait another three years.
JANET You know, I haven't seen the rest of our group since we graduated.

DENISE Well, we all went off in different directions. It's tough keeping in touch. But I think we should make an effort to get together at least once a year. Julie and I have seen each other a lot since we're both in the news business, except with different stations.

JANET Remember how we would have those all night cram sessions?

DENISE We had a lot of fun those last two years when we all lived together in that old house.
I think it was the best time of my life.

JANET I have an idea. What if we call our ex-roommates and see if they could come to my house for a weekend sleepover. It would be like old times.

DENISE That's a great idea. I know Julie would be up for it.

JANET How does a month from now sound?

DENISE It's ok by me. I'll check with Julie.

JANET And I'll get in touch with the others. It should be a weekend we'll never forget. And you guys just have to see what I've done with the basement. You won't believe it.

Scene 5

Each of the other girls are contacted and agree to the reunion. Quick shots of each on the phone.

Scene 6

Denise wakes up the next morning and remarks she had no nightmares.

DENISE I didn't have that dream last night.

She goes into the bathroom and turns on the radio.
NEWSCASTER This just in. The man believed to be responsible for the series of gruesome killings in the city has himself been killed by an intended victim. During the struggle, she was able to stab him in the heart with a broken 2x4. And no, he didn't disolve into dust, dispelling the theory that he might be a vampire. More details as they become available.
We return you to our regularly scheduled program.

DENISE
That's why I wasn't attacked, he's dead.

JASON
You don't have anything more to worry about.
Just enjoy your reunion and forget about all this.

Scene 7

AMY What do you mean you can't watch Jessie this weekend? You said you would. You know I have plans with my friends from college.

BILL It can't be helped. My boss says I have to cover this game. I can't lose my job.

AMY That was always the problem.
Your job always came first, before me, before your own daughter.

BILL Hey, it put bread on the table and clothes on your back. You should be grateful for that!

AMY
Yeah, grateful, grateful for all those lonely nights. Grateful that Jessie hardly knows you!
Go to your game. I'll get a sitter.

BILL Listen, I can do it next weekend.

AMY Next weekend is too late. Just get out.

He leaves and she places a call.

Scene 8
The day of the reunion. Denise walks into the bathroom and drops her robe and steps into the shower.
From the camera's perspective, someone is walking toward the bathroom and enters the room. A hand pulls the curtain open and Denise screams. It's Jason

DENISE What are you trying to do, give me a heart attack? You scared me half to death!

JASON Awfully touchy aren't we?

DENISE Make yourself useful and hand me my robe.

He grabs it and she puts it on.

DENISE (CU) So what the hell are you doing here?

She's a little irritated, but not really mad. She steps out of the shower with the robe on.

JASON
I wanted to see you before you left for your reunion. I'm going to miss you. I wish I could have stayed over last night, but I had to get that project done. I'm going to miss you. It will be the first weekend in 7 months that we won't be together.
DENISE Oh, you poor dear. (She opens her robe and pulls him close to her.)
How about I give you something to tide you over until Monday?

JASON Sounds good to me.

They kiss.

Cut to the outside of the house as Julie pulls up in her car and walks up to the door and knocks.

DENISE
That must be Julie. I'll see you Monday.

JASON Ok. I love you.
They are both dressed. He walks out and sees Julie in the yard.

JASON Hi, Julie. Go ahead in. Have fun this weekend.
JULIE Thanks. See you later.

She walks in and is met by Julie in the kichen.

JULIE I see you couldn't tear yourself away from Jason for even one weekend.

DENISE What can I say? He can't keep his hands off me.

JULIE Well, I just hope you can manage to 48 hours without seeing him.

DENISE I'll certainly try. (pause) You want some coffee?

JULIE No thanks. I can't wait to see the old gang.

DENISE
It should be a lot of fun.
Janet said that she was able to contact everyone and they're all coming.

JULIE I wonder what they've all been up to the last few years?

DENISE We'll know soon enough.

Scene 9

Janet is putting food out at the table and there's a knock on the door.

JANET Hi, come on in.

DENISE I can't believe your house.

JANET Halloween is my favorite time of year. When everyone else arrives,
I'll give you all the tour. Let's go into the livingroom.

JANET So Julie, it's good to see you. Denise tells me you're a TV news producer.
That sounds exciting.

JULIE It is. I'm really enjoying myself. It can be gut wrenching at times, but I like it.

JANET Do you two work together?

DENISE No. I'm a reporter for KWY and Julie here is a producer for WBAU.

JANET That's right, you said you didn't work together. (knock, knock)
Excuse me. That's someone at the door.

She answers the door and it's Terri and Sharon.

JANET Hi, come on in. Find it ok?

TERRI No, we almost didn't make it. Sharon here got us lost.

SHARON Who got who lost? I told you to go right at the ìYî.
You would think a teacher would know her right from her left.

TERRI Course she tells me this AFTER I've gone two miles too far.
And then we got here late because Sharon had to play Florence Nightinggale.

JANET At least you made it and that's what counts. Denise and Julie are in the livingroom.

As they walk in there's another knock.

JANET That must be Amy.

TERRI The gang's all here.

Janet let's Amy in.
AMY Sorry I'm late, but the sitter I hired showed up late.

JANET What about Joe?

AMY We separated six months ago.

JANET Sorry to hear that.

AMY It's for the best. We weren't getting along at all. And heaven forbid he watch his own daughter when there's a football game he has to go to! So I had to hire a sitter.

JANET Well, let's go in the livingroom. Everyone else is in there.

They walk in and everyone says hi.

JANET What can I get everyone?

ALL Beer!

Janet gets beer and returns.

SHARON
I see you don't let the calendar dictate when you decorate for Halloween.

JANET I always loved Halloween and now I can decorate as I please..

TERRI So Janet, you still playing those practical jokes of yours?

JANET Absolutely not. I'm a mature business woman now.

SHARON Right! And I'm Brittany Spears.

TERRI Do you remember the time Janet glued all the drawers closed
in Professor Morrison's lab?
He had to cancel all his chemistry classes that day.

AMY
And the time she ìborrowedî our rival's mascot the night before the big game?

JANET Hey, it was in a safe place, wasn't it?

DENISE Yeah, I'd say the college president's office was safe. It took him weeks to get rid of the smell. Good thing he never learned it was you who put him there.

JANET I've grown up now. I wouldn't do things like that.

Julie's reaching into the chips as Janet is speaking.

JULIE Ooh! (She pulls out a plastic mouse from the bowl.)

JANET Well, maybe a few jokes.

Scene 10

Cut to another woman going through some things in her attic. She finds a bracelet and tries it on. Her eyes go wide as she's suddenly possessed and fangs appear in her mouth.

COUNTESS Once more I live! And now for my revenge!

Scene 11
Janet decides to give them the tour.

JANET Now that you know where you can sleep, let me give you a tour of the rest of the house.

After the tour, the come into the room with the coffin.

JANET
This coffin is over 200 years old. It was suppose to have been brought over to the states from Transylvania. Jim found it in a building he was going to demolish and bought it from the owner for me to use in my haunted house. There is a story that goes with it.

Flashback.

JANET
200 hundred years ago the Countess Jasmine thought she was above the law.
Her debauchery knew no bounds. She lured one of her servants into her bed chamber.

COUNTESS Come little one, join me.

SERVANT I can't my lady. I am married.

COUNTESS Don't be concerned.

She seduces the young girl, forcing her to disrobe and to join her in her bed. After several moments of lovemaking, she suddenly changes into a vampire, biting the girl's neck, draining the life from her.

She calls for a guard.

COUNTESS Gut this one and place her remaining blood in my bath.
I must bathe in her essence.

The next day. The guard is tossed into the room dead, followed by a soldier.

COUNTESS What is the meaning of this?

SOLDIER
I am Jacque DuBois.
It was my wife you murdered in your bloodlust and now I'm here for revenge.
I know your powers are weakest during the day!

He rushes her and knocks her out.

Cut to her staked out in the sun.

SOLDIER You will burn in hell!
COUNTESS I curse you and all your ancesters.
The first born of each generation will become a creature of the night!

SOLDIER Die foul creature!
The sun burns down and she disappears in ash. The only thing that remains is bracelet that was around her wrist.

Flashback ends.

JANET That's not all. Decendents of that soldier have turned up dead, their necks ripped open and their bodies drained of blood by their own flesh and blood!

DENISE You've always had a vivid imagination Janet,
but I think you've outdone yourself this time.

JANET
There's more. It's said that she must return to her coffin,
THIS COFFIN, in order to survive!

Suddenly the lights go out and they all scream.

SHARON Get the lights. Hurry!

The lights go on and Terri lies on the floor.

AMY Oh my god, what happened?
She's all bloody.

JULIE Someone help her.

She suddenly sits up and yells, ìBooî.

She and Janet howl with laughter.

JANET God, you guys are so gullible. Ha, ha.

JULIE At least you haven't lost your touch, Janet.

SHARON So how much of that story is true?

JANET The coffin is over 200 years old.

Something is watching from the shadows.

Scene 12
Cut to the outside of the house and then to the livingroom. All are there except Sharon.

AMY This is just like old times.

Sharon returns from the kitchen.

SHARON
We have a crisis here! There's no more beer.

JANET There's more in the basement.

DENISE I'll get it.

She goes down and is attacked by the vampiress. Screams are heard by the other girls.

AMY
Good try, Janet. Trying to convince us that something's happening to Denise.
How'd you convince her to go along with it?

JANET I don't know what you're talking about.
Whatever she's doing, she's doing it on her own.

ALL Sure Janet, sure!

Cut back to Denise being killed.

Upstairs

JULIE Denise has been gone a long time. I think I'll se what's going on.

She leaves.

AMY I don't know what she's worried about.
It's obviously another one of Janet's practical jokes.

Everyone is tipsy from drinking.
Julie cautiously enters the basement room.
JULIE Denise, you down here? Come on, stop fooling around.
(pause)
I wonder what she and Janet are up to?

Denise's body is gone, but there's blood on the floor.

JULIE
This looks like real blood. I've got to tell the others.

Upstairs everyone continues to party

TERRI
I'm going to change into something more comfortable. I'll be back in a few minutes.

She passes Julie as she comes into the room.

JULIE Ok, Janet, what's the big idea? The basement's a wreck and there's
real looking blood all over the place.

JANET I don't know what you're talking about, really.

AMY (clearly drunk)
S...Sure J...Janet, a...and I..I'm Madonna!

JANET I swear I don't know what's going on!
It's probably Denise trying to get back at me for my earlier prank.

SHARON Yeah sure, You and Denise are probably in it together.
You obviously convinced her to go along with your act just like Terri did.
All the screams we've heard are just part of the act.

Scene 13

Terri enters her room and is killed by the vampiress.

Scene 14

Janet has passed out on the sofa and Julie is still concerned.

JULIE Sharon, won't you check it out?

SHARON What's the old saying? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I'm not falling for any more of Janet's jokes.

JULIE
Amy, what about you?

AMY I think I'm going to be sick.

She runs out of the room and into the bathroom

SHARON Good old Amy, can't hold her liquor any better now than she could in college.

Scene 15

Amy pukes into the toilet. She stands up and looks in the mirror. The vampiress grabs her, pulls her into the tub, and kills her. She then turns the water on.

Scene 16

SHARON Sounds like Amy decided to take a cold shower to sober up.
I'm going upstairs and get ready for bed. Terri must have sacked out already.

JULIE What about Denise?

SHARON She'll turn up.

JULIE What should we do with Janet?

SHARON Cover her with the throw. You know how she was if anyone waked her up before she was ready. I'll see you in the morning.

They go their separate ways.

Scene 17

Sharon is killed as she's about to change.

Scene 18
Julie returns to the basement and looks around. Convinced Denise isn't there, she changes into a nightgown and then hears something. She goes into the room where she's attacked and killed.
Scene 19

Janet wakes up and sees everyone is gone. She hears the shower and decides someone must be taking a shower and decides to get changed herself.

She yells down into the basement.

JANET
Any one awake down there.

The vampire disguises her voice like Julie's

VAMPIRE Janet, come on down. I have something to show you.

Janet goes down and is killed by the vampire.
Scene 20

A lone figure staggers along the side of the road. A car with 3-4 guys is driving down the road. They see her.

DRIVER This looks like our lucky day. Look at that babe.
I bet she's out here looking for some action
GUY Yeah, let's see what she looks like.

They pull up and see she's been in a struggle, but her face is still unseen. They get out of the car and approach.

DRIVER Hey girlie, what's up?

He grabs her shoulder and her face rears up, revealing the fangs.

DRIVER What is this? A little late for trick or treat isn't it?

She grabs him, lifts him off the ground, and tosses him back. She attacks and kills the two other guys and then finally the driver. She walks away.

Scene 21
Two policeman arrive at Janet's house. They ring the bell, but there's no answer. The door swings open and they go in. They make their way to the basement where they split up and are attacked and killed by the vampire.

Scene 22
Denise arrives at Jason's place. When he opens the door, she's standing there, with her head down.

JASON Denise, what the hell happened?

She suddenly raises her head and reveals her fangs. She tries to bite him, but he fends her off. He grabs a crusifix and she collapses unconscious.

Later.
JASON Denise, what's happened to you?

DENISE I was attacked at Janet's. Killed by a female vampire.
The next thing I knew I was walking along the road and several guys stopped.
I think I killed them.

JASON What? This is crazy!

DENISE No, somehow I've become a vampire.
A vampire who knows who she is and what she is, and yet, not quite right somehow.
We've got to get back to Janet's. There may still be time to save the others.

JASON You've got to rest. Besides, the sun's come up.
And if you're really a vampire, you won't survive in the daylight.
We have to wait until tonight.

DENISE All right.

Scene 23
Cut to the night. They arrive at the house.
The friends become vampires and must be killed as well.

Scene 24
As they are about to leave, they're confronted by vampiress.

COUNTESS So, what's like to be a vampire, a vampire like me?

DENISE Why aren't like the others? Mindless and uncontrollable?

COUNTESS It's the curse, the curse I bestowed upon your ancesters just before one of them destroyed me, or so he thought. I was able to send by essence into the bracelet, where I'm released whenever one of my descendents places it on her wrist.

It's the same curse your mother experienced. You feed like a vampire, but one with a conscience. To stay alive, you must kill innocents and live with that guilt as long as you roam the earth. But your mother chose death rather than remain a vampire.
What will you decide?

DENISE
I choose YOUR death.

She makes a quick move toward the vampire, but is brushed aside.

COUNTESS You're new at this! You can't defeat me.
JASON But she's not alone!

Jason comes from behind the vampire and plunges a stake through her back that comes out the front.

COUNTESS
AHH!

Denise quickly slams her agains the wall. She places her mouth next to the vampire's neck.

DENISE This is one death I won't regret!

She bites her neck and the vampire screams. Suddenly her empty nightgown falls to the floor along with the wrist band.

JASON What happened?

DENISE I think she was absorbed back into the bracelet.
We have to hide it and keep anyone from finding ever again.

JASON So, now what?

DENISE I don't know. I guess have to live with what I've become.

JASON You mean we have to live with what you've become.

DENISE I can't expect things to stay the same between us.
You're free to go on with your own life.

JASON
No, I'm not. You're my life and we'll face this together.

He hugs her and the scen fades to black.
