The Halloween setting is put to good use with some moody lighting and the sea of orange leaves. A real standout is the musical theme by “The Gang”, which reminded me of the score of italian b-movies in just the right way. Leading ladies McCauley and Kane spend the bulk of the movie in some form of restraints like precariously stuck in a noose or stockades and never waver in their performances. They were real troopers. I have seen a few other W.A.V.E. movies by now and it was probably the best paced. It was pretty lean and told what needed to be told and one of the twists pleasantly surprised me.
Those that prefer the more gruesome W.A.V.E. pictures might find the film too tame for them, but I think it deserves a look.
