Fanny Starr #1

Fanny Starr started out as a super-8 short shot back in 1981. That short is available on the blu-ray edition of Female Mercenaries 1 & 2 through Pop Cinema. There have been 4 Fanny Starr movies done since 1990.

The comic was drawn over the course of 30 years or so. The bulk was done back in the 80s. The first few pages were done a few years back. The front and back covers are in color with B&W artwork inside. Part of the storyline actually was used as the premise for Sisters and the whole daylight savings time change.

In Dire Straits #1

In the same time period in which I began WAVE, I published a magazine called IN DIRE STRAITS. Only a handful of people have seen this issue. It included comics, movie reviews, and artwork and included a Fanny Starr comic strip based on the character introduced back in 1981 in the short film entitled, The Misadventures of Fanny Starr! That video can be seen on the blu-ray edition of Female Mercenaries available from Alternative Cinema.

If the name WAVE hadn’t been developed by Mike and Aven, WAVE would probably have been In Dire Straits Productions. That’s why many of the titles we did years ago were done under the name In Dire Straits Productions.

Desperate Situation

A young girl, Mandy (Laura Giglio), who is still grieving over her husband’s recent death, is brutally kidnapped and held for ransom.
Her rich father-in-law is contacted for the money. Dressed only in a sheer nightgown, and bound and gagged, Mandy is forced to walk barefoot in the woods at night, is placed in the trunk of a car, and is left in the shower to be drenched to the skin. And then, while waiting for the payment, the kidnapper (Michael Priem) begins to fall in love with the frightened girl. But that’s not all! He’s got a foot fetish that the girl tries to use to her advantage in an attempt to escape. And then his accomplice (Deana) comes between them. And the result is a deadly confrontation ending in murder!
