She sells a scene with no nudity in such a way that it isn’t needed to be one of the hottest pieces of quicksand ever to be committed to film.

Not only a huge fan of Laura but also friends for many years . Loved all the drownings. Laura is the queen of these B movies in my opinion and proves it with this title . Great storyline well worth the price.

Comment on Strangled 3: Blood Test by divaD https://wavemovies.com/shop/drive/strangled-3-blood-test/#comment-4199 Sun, 01 Aug 2021 12:37:57 +0000 https://wavemovies.com/?post_type=product&p=1486#comment-4199 First, I want to preface my review by stating that I’m one of the seemingly rare W.A.V.E. fans who really does watch these movies for their quirky, no-budget aesthetic, and not really for their “fetish” aspects. I don’t spend $23 – $50 on these movies because I want to see girls getting strangled, chloroformed, carried, etc. I don’t mind watching these things when they appear on-screen, but it’s not what I’m looking for in a W.A.V.E. movie. I guess my appreciation of these films stems from my young teenage days when I first discovered John Waters films. I always loved how he used the same actors and actresses for each and every movie. I became a fan of each and every actor, and was always excited to see what characters they would play next. My love for the recurring acting troupes are what led me to start appreciating movies by companies like E.I. Cinema, Wicked Pixel Cinema, Factory 2000, and W.A.V.E. You really get to know each actresses’/actors’ on-screen personas, and when they pop in the next feature, you smile and say, “Oh, there’s ____! I’m glad they are in this one too!” At least, this is what led me, personally, to become a W.A.V.E. fan — That, and of course, the wonderfully lurid, pulpy covers that have a style unparalleled by any film company ever.

That being said, this was the first “Strangled” entry that I had ever seen. Of course I had known about these films for a long time, but while browsing the online catalog for many years, I always avoided them, because a lot of the chloroforming/strangulation/struggle aspects tend to go on for quite some time, and with a title consisting of simply the word “Strangled” I assumed these would be nothing but prolonged clips of those aspects. With this movie, I was very pleasantly surprised! Not only are the chloroform/strangulation scenes pretty short and to the point, there is also a pretty cool story (reminding me a tad of Zombie Nightmare, except on a grander scale), some really neat and inventive shots (My favorite is Gary’s half-face staring into the camera as he’s watching his first victim, Tina Krause, in her bedroom), some pretty great acting from nearly the entire cast, and some honest-to-goodness tension/suspense. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting, and surprises like this are what keeps me shelling out the money for these movies.

And even though I praise the short length of the attack/struggle scenes, there is still more than enough scenes to satisfy those who are actually really into those aspects of these movies, so bottom line, if you like W.A.V.E. films at all, you really can’t go wrong with Strangled 3: Blood Test!

Comment on Halloween Horrors by martianmanhunter37 https://wavemovies.com/shop/drive/halloween-horrors/#comment-3962 Tue, 15 Jun 2021 02:34:29 +0000 https://wavemovies.com/?post_type=product&p=1417#comment-3962 The Halloween setting is put to good use with some moody lighting and the sea of orange leaves. A real standout is the musical theme by “The Gang”, which reminded me of the score of italian b-movies in just the right way. Leading ladies McCauley and Kane spend the bulk of the movie in some form of restraints like precariously stuck in a noose or stockades and never waver in their performances. They were real troopers. I have seen a few other W.A.V.E. movies by now and it was probably the best paced. It was pretty lean and told what needed to be told and one of the twists pleasantly surprised me.

Those that prefer the more gruesome W.A.V.E. pictures might find the film too tame for them, but I think it deserves a look.

Comment on The Pinelands Murders by Jade Michael LaFont https://wavemovies.com/shop/drive/the-pinelands-murders/#comment-2800 Sat, 25 Jul 2020 22:46:39 +0000 https://wavemovies.com/?post_type=product&p=1661#comment-2800 THE PINELANDS MURDERS is a faithful remake to the classic WAVE production entitled DEAD NORTH. If you enjoyed that film, be sure to grab a copy of this one!

Featuring a cast of new faces, including newer Scream Queen Heather Drew as an investigative reporter. Most of the cast seems up for the challenge of redoing one of WAVE’s best SOV slasher films. While the original, IMO, will always be the better of the two, it is a noteworthy remake that is easy viewing. There are numerous deaths by strangulation, electrocution, poisoning, etc. are here in full force. Additionally there are enough plot twists to keep the viewer guessing, and a feeling of fun that makes this one of WAVE’s better latter day offerings.

Buy yourself a copy of DEAD NORTH and THE PINELANDS MURDERS in order to have a double feature movie night. I assure you that you will not regret it!

Comment on CHAOS.TV by divaD https://wavemovies.com/shop/drive/chaos-tv/#comment-2621 Tue, 26 May 2020 06:36:01 +0000 https://wavemovies.com/?post_type=product&p=1879#comment-2621 Definitely one of my top favorite WAVE movies, Chaos.tv is awesome. It’s full of plot twists and great acting. This film features, by far, my favorite role from Tina Krause in a WAVE movie. She has an extended monologue in front of a bathroom mirror talking to the camera/audience about a mental hospital that is just absolutely terrific. She really shows her acting chops in this one. Also, I like the found footage/reality TV aspect. It sets the tone immediately and fits well with the story. Would be cool to see another found footage-type movie from WAVE someday. This one gets an A+ from me.

The performances from the whole cast were quite good. Tina and Pamela have great chemistry together. This is hands down Tina’s best performance I have seen in a WAVE movie. Without giving too much away — the finale was a shocker and came way out of left field. This one is NECESSARY VIEWING for Tina fans and highly recommended.

This is an entertaining drowning flick. There is an interesting plot and it moves along at a steady pace. Dawn and Michelle’s pool battle during a lightning storm at the end is used to great effect. Debbie D also wears the skimpiest detective outfit ever seen in a movie.

Though the material is repetitive – girls fainting at the sight of a now dead demon worshipper and have their hearts ripped out and burned on a tree stump – the cast helps make this flick enjoyable. My only issue with the film is that there are no chase scenes. Chase scenes would have made this one of WAVE’s best. However, it is an enjoyable piece of SOV fun.

Tina, Christie, Deana, Dawn, Pamela, Sal, Gary, and David bring their A game. Love the scenes between Tina and Pamela. All around fun!
